December 24, 2013.
Remembering, in an era of arrogance, indifference and cruelty, the birth of the one who was the embodiment of love, gentleness and generosity.
Please, don’t judge me. Don’t look down on me. I need your love. Love me.
Be compassionate. Be kind. Be generous. Be patient. Be soft.
I am here. I am my father’s gift to you.
I am here so you can grow your compassion, kindness and generosity.
I am here so you can face and defeat the selfishness that is corroding you.
I am here so you can conquer your fear and be free.
It is a complicated world, I know, but be fair.
Do not cheat.
Do not steal from me.
Do not exploit me.
Do not oppress me.
Do not take advantage of me only because I am poor and weak.
Don’t look away when I am crying for help.
Don’t judge me.
Reach out and help me with understanding and compassion in your heart.
Raise me up.
“Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?”
The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Then, I will say to you, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
