Piero Falci teaches Mindfulness Meditation and Mindful Living and the acclaimed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. He leads Insight Meditation Silent Retreats and organizes Silent Peace Walks. He lives in Florida, USA. He was trained by the teachers at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University. He also teaches the Mindfulness in Schools Project’s .b (DOT-BE) curriculum for young people aged 11 to 18 years old.

1 – PROGRAMS

1.1 – MINDFULNESS FOR ADULTS: MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION PROGRAM (MBSR)

MBSR? What is it? Why this stress-reduction program is being prescribed by doctors all over the world? MBSR is a 8-week program (8 weekly sessions of 2 and 1/2 hours each) that helps us manage stress by improving the ways we respond to our thoughts and emotions and the ways we deal with our problems. It teaches us to recognize the interactions of mind, body, and feelings, and ways of improving our mental, physical, and emotional health by responding more wisely to the stressors in our lives.  Developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program is being taught all over the world because it has proven to be effective in helping to treat many conditions that undermine our health, such as overthinking, anxiety, panic, depression, difficulty to sleep, fatigue, headaches, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, gastrointestinal distress, skin disorders, fibromyalgia, cancer, and pain. Piero teaches MBSR for groups several times during the year. Group program fee: $500/person. 1.2 – MINDFULNESS FOR TEENAGERS: .b (DOT-BE) PROGRAM

Ten sessions: Group program fee: $200/person. The .b program, pronounced [dot-be], is the UK’s leading mindfulness curriculum for 11-18 year old in schools. .b stands for ‘stop and be’, a simple practice at the heart of this ten lesson course. Each .b lesson (between 40 minutes and 1 hour) is expertly crafted to teach a distinct mindfulness skill. The .b materials are designed to engage even the most skeptical of young minds.

3 – SILENT RETREATS

Get more information about the multi-day silent retreats that Piero co-leads at the West Broward Insight Meditation Community website. Next 5-day insight meditation retreat will take place from September 24 to 28, 2021 at Casa San Carlos Retreat Center in Delray Beach, Florida. Each day there will be a lecture, some light guided instruction, a gentle mindful movement class, teacher support meetings, and plenty of silent time to practice loving-kindness, self-compassion, and mindfulness meditation through seated, walking, and eating practices.

5 – DROP-INS: MINDFULNESS MEDITATION SESSIONS
