Daily Reflections – Week 30

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

Today is a good day to acknowledge this incredible gift that was given to us.

Take time, today, to watch the sun rising in the horizon. Listen to the sounds of silence. Feel the breeze caressing your skin. Look near and far, and see the big and the small. Feel as if you were immersed in a gentle and welcoming ocean of peace. Actually, you are, if you so choose. Take time, today, to be amazed, grateful and happy.

This is our Garden! This is our Playground! Enjoy the beauty of the Garden, and have fun in the Playground. And if you feel like it, give your contribution, however small, to make the Garden more beautiful and the Playground more enjoyable. Help your friends see and acknowledge the beauty of the Garden, and have more fun in the Playground. And remember to cheerfully share your toys; increase your joy, by increasing theirs.

Take time, today, to bring to someone else’s attention all the Magic, Mystery and Miracles that surround us. Greet a stranger with a smile, and say, “Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?”

Remember: this is Heaven, if we want it to be.

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

Look around and be amazed, grateful and happy.

Today is a good day to think about the end.

Death is the wisest counselor. If you are not sure you are living the life you are meant to live, and unsure you are doing what you are supposed to do, imagine yourself dying and looking back at your passage here on Earth; what will you be feeling then?

A time will come when we will look back at our lives and realize that all those things that we struggled so hard to obtain — possessions, prestige, money, fame and success — don’t really matter. In the end, we will realize that life is a succession of present moments, and that the only thing that matters is the joy and love we experience in each moment. We will cherish nothing more than the memories of the good times we shared with the meaningful people in our lives. We will remember the moments of collaboration and camaraderie much more than the moments of competition and struggle. We will remember those times when we gave of ourselves to improve the lives of others and make the world a better place. We will remember those whose lives we touched in a positive way and whose suffering we alleviated. We will realize that the only thing that really matters is selfless service and love; the love we are able to give, and the love we are able to receive. That’s all. In the end, we will realize that love is all that really matters, and all we need.

Remember: all things must pass. So, go forth, and give love. Let people know that they are loved. Give love, and be open to receive it. By doing so, you will make it possible for others to experience the joy of giving.

Just do it!

And know that you are loved.

Namaste. ~ Piero

“Death is the only wise advisor that we have. Whenever you feel, as you always do, that everything is going wrong and you’re about to be annihilated, turn to your death and ask if that is so. Your death will tell you that you’re wrong; that nothing really matters outside its touch. Your death will tell you, ‘I haven’t touched you yet.’” ~ Carlos Castaneda, Journey to Ixtlan

“In a world where death is the hunter, my friend, there is no time for regrets or doubts. There is only time for decisions.” ~ Carlos Castaneda, Journey to Ixtlan

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

The Earth continues to spin through the Cosmos, and the sun showed its face to us again. Look around with the eyes of the heart and see all the Magic, Mystery and Miracles that surround you. Appreciate the silence. Be amazed, grateful and happy.

Today is a good day to slow down and be kinder.

Reduce the speed you are moving through life. Take time to find enjoyment in what you are doing. Enjoy the simplest things in life. Enjoy the bath you will take today. Enjoy the water you will drink today. Acknowledge the objects that serve you, and be thankful. Say “Thank you” to the cup that holds your beverage. Say “Thank you” to the bed that sustains your body and gives you rest. Slow down and enjoy a more elegant, graceful and refined existence.

Be gentle, generous, patient, compassionate and kind today. Stay away from everything that is loud and aggressive, and cultivate a calm, focused attention. Be mindful and grateful.

Do this, and enhance the quality of your life.

Just do it!

Be gentle with yourself, and know that you are loved.

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

Here you are, awake, alert, aware and alive! Life is pure Magic, Mystery and Miracles, isn’t it?

Today is a good day to practice the simple things that enhance the quality of our lives.

1 – Be grateful.
Recognize the wonderful life you have, and give thanks for it. Express gratitude for all that has been given to you. Make an inventory of what you have, before putting yourself in motion to get more. Acknowledge where you are before you set yourself in motion to go elsewhere.

2 – Be not afraid.
Focus on the positive aspects of your life. Dispel the negative emotions brought up by fear. Practice to gently acknowledge and release your worries when they show up.

3 – Forgive and forget.
Release anger, envy, hatred, and all the other negative feelings toward other individuals.

4 – Be authentic.
Meditate deeply on who you are and what is the highest contribution you can offer to the world. Develop the commitment to be completely authentic and honest with yourself. Simplify your life. Get rid of stuff that does not serve you anymore. Gently release what is holding you back. Let go of a life that has played itself out and does not serve you anymore. Follow your bliss. Put yourself in motion to be the best that you can be, and do what you were brought here to do.

5 – Be kind.
Bring to your mind thoughts of kindness and generosity. Focus not so much on what you want to get, but on the gifts that you can give. Put yourself in motion to help other people. Be compassionate, kind, generous and patient.

The regular practice of these five items will make your passage here on Earth much more meaningful and enjoyable.

Just do it!

And know that you are loved.

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

Listen! Insects are chirping. Birds are singing. The sun is coming up and the world is slowly awaking. There is Magic, Mystery and Miracles all around us. Be amazed, grateful and happy.

Today is a good day to regain the joy and innocence of a child.

Take time, today, to bring to mind images of children at play. See their smiling faces. Hear their laughter. Feel their joy. Observe their awe as they discover the world. Reflect on their innocence.

Can you see yourself as a little child? Can you see how wonderful and innocent you are? Can you feel the desire to protect this child?

Now, take your little self up in your arms. Look your little self in the eyes. Smile, and see yourself smiling back at you. Say, “I love you. I will always love you and take care of you,” and hear your little self saying, “I will always love you and take good care of you, too. I love you. Don’t worry; everything will be alright.”

Just do it!

And know that you are loved.

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

Just pause, take a deep breath, and look around. Can you see all the Magic, all the Mystery, and all the Miracles that surround you? It is amazing, isn’t it? So, be amazed! Be grateful! Be happy!

Today is a good day to reflect on authenticity.

Go to your place of peace, meditate, and ask yourself the four fundamental questions that Wayne Muller taught us: “Who am I? What do I love? How do I live knowing that I will die? What are my gifts to the family of the Earth?”

Let the answers come to you.

Now, answer the following questions with absolute honesty: “Am I authentic? Am I being who I am meant to be? Am I doing what I was brought here to do? Am I living the life I am supposed to live?”

If the answers to these poignant questions are upsetting, don’t be discouraged. Remember that life is a journey. We are here to learn. There will always be room for improvement. Since a new awareness is born every day, be aware that answers to these questions are never-ending. Therefore practice to be awake, aware, alert and alive unceasingly. Pay attention and be alert always. Be here, now. Adopt this as your daily discipline. Doing this will remind you of who you really are and what you were brought here to do.

Follow Howard Thurman’s exhortation: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”  And be not afraid. Let the words of Joseph Campbell inspire you, and give you courage: “Follow your bliss, and the Universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.”

Set yourself in motion, and fulfill your destiny!

Just do it!

And know that you are loved.

Good morning!

Today is another beautiful day in Paradise, isn’t it?

This globe, upon which we live, just finished its three hundred and sixty degrees rotation while floating in a vacuum. It took it twenty-four hours to complete the whole turn around its axis, and here we are, again, facing the sun one more time. And all this happened without any human intervention. Isn’t this amazing? Isn’t this great? Can you see all the Magic, Mystery and Miracles that surround us? Truly, Creation is perfect, and since we are part of Creation, we, too, are perfect.

Be amazed! Be grateful! Be happy!

Today is a great day to practice mindfulness.

Go to the center of your being, to that quiet place of stillness, and meditate. Focus your attention on your breathing.  Whenever something distracts you, and you realize that you no longer are paying attention to your breathing, come back to it using the CAR method: Catch – Acknowledge – Release. Catch yourself distracted with a thought, Acknowledge it, and gently Release it. Let the distraction go, while bringing your attention back to your breathing. Do this over and over again, as many times as the distractions come up, and you will have a successful meditation.

Now, as you go through your day, make sure you stay focused on the here-now. Remember to ask yourself, as many times during the day as possible, “Where am I right now? What am I doing here right now?” Asking these simple questions will increase your mindfulness.

Do it, and you will enhance the quality of your life.

Just do it!
